 Dr. John M. Lertora is a 1980 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a B.S in Biology. Dr. Lertora then returned to the University of Massachusetts for an additional year of graduate level course work in Biology, after which he entered the New England College of Optometry in Boston in the fall of 1981. Dr. Lertora received his Doctorate in Optometry, O.D, in June 1985.

Dr. Lertora is certified in diagnostic and therapeutic ocular agents by the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and the State of Connecticut. He received a Diplomate in Glaucoma and certifcation in advanced optometric care from the State University of New York College of Optometry, and the State of Connecticut.       

Dr. Lertora was a member of the New England Council of Optometrists. He is an active member of the Connecticut Association of Optometrists and was President of the association in 2001-2002. He also is an active member of the American Optometirc Association. He is a past president of the Bloomfield Jaycees. He served for eleven years as a member of the Bloomfield Commission on Aging and is currently a member of the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance Fund, Inc.
